Oatmeal Cookies

I'm particular when it comes to oatmeal cookies.  I like them a lil bit chewy and crispy!  I've tried so many recipes and none of them were what I was looking for so I decided to make my own!  I use this as a base for oatmeal raisin and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!   You want to use melted butter as it helps make them chewy.  Hope you enjoy them as much as my family does!

Oatmeal Cookies!
2 c butter, melted
2 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 c flour
5 c quick oats

For Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies:
2 c chocolate chips

For Oatmeal Raisin Cookies:
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 c raisins

  1. Whip together butter, sugars, and eggs then add vanilla.
  2. Mix together the dry ingredients
  3. Add chocolate chips or raisins and spices to the dry ingredients.
  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well together.  You will want the cookie dough to be a lil wet as the oats will absorb moisture as they bake.
  5. Scoop out walnut size balls of dough and place on baking sheets.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 10 min.
