Split Pea Soup

This is a family favorite recipe!  Adapting it for the Instant Pot is one of the best thungs I have done as it is now as easy as putting everything in the pot and cooking for 17 min at pressure!

Split Pea Soup

Prep time: 20 min
Cook time: 60 min
Serves: 4

2 c green split peas
8 c water
3 c diced potatoes (about 3-4)
2 stalks celery, diced
2 carrots, sliced
1 med onion
2 tsp salt
1 bay leaf
3/4 tsp garlic powder
Pinch of thyme
1/2 tsp basil
1 TBSP hickory style bakon seasoning
Bakon bits

  1. Rinse split peas
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large pot
  3. Cook until peas are soft and veggies are cooked
  4. If cooking in an Instant Pot, cook at high pressure for 17 min, releasing pressure once done.
